Malbec is most definitely the red varietal of the moment. Smooth and easy drinking, the Argentinian speciality crosses price and occasion bands, equally at home as a Friday night glass, or a pricey bottle in a top restaurant…….or as a great sparkling.
This unusual fizz is delightfully presented in a heavyweight bottle and exposed cage, and yes, is a sparkling Rose.
Malbec being a red skinned grape, the blush colour is achieved as with normal rose production, with controlled contact with the skins. The delicate colour and berry flavours the skins impart make this sparkler a light texture with red berry flavours.
And, it’s not just us who thinks this sparkling rose is delightful – a recent Decanter tasting scored it 89 points out of 100

Love Malbec? Love bubbles? Love Gouguenheim.
Gouguenheim Winery sits 70 kilometres from the city of Mendoza, the most renowned wine producing area of Argentina. At an altitude of more than 3,600 feet vineyards experience vast climate differences, particularly between day and night. Irrigated by melt water from the Andes, the vines often receive a dusting of snow. The 16 degree temperature fluctuations force the vines to work hard for their fruit, producing some outstanding examples.
