The Speakeasy of the ‘Roaring Twenties’ was a place of whispered passwords and secret handshakes to access the underground world of illegal drinking dens, where liquor, music and dancing ran in the face of Prohibition.
Our club’s the bee’s knees. We’ve got the flappers. the fly boys and some damned fine dames. The source of our wines is as secret as the password to enter our Speakeasy Club, and we ain’t telling no matter what. All you need to know is these wines are made by one of South Austraila’s finest wineries by a muli-award winning winemaker. You deserve only the best.
As we say in the Speakeasy Club, ‘A little party never killed nobody!’.
This Cab from Mark Shaw’s cellars in Currency Creek, Adelaide, is a ripper of a wine! Full of rich, fruity vibrant characters, exuding complexity with delicious hints of blackberry, dark cherry and plum. Delicate ageing in French oak adds elegant caramel and vanilla spice flavours. A perfect partner for spicy pasta dishes, grilled steaks, roast lamb and cheese.
This nifty Pinot Gris from Victoria in South Australia is the cat’s meow. It has a light pink, blush colour cleverly created by leaving the grape skins on a little longer, adding a special ‘something’ to your glass. This is a complex, textural and slightly savoury Pinot Gris with aromas of pears, lychees and exotic spice.
